One-day excursion to the east of Jeju:
Haenyeo culture & Seongsan Ilchulbong

Seongsan Ilchulbong is one of Jeju Island’s most famous natural landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This volcanic crater rises above the ocean and offers some of the most breathtaking panoramic views on the island.

This one-day program takes you to the eastern part of Jeju, where volcanic landscapes, the sea, local culture, and traditional cuisine come together.

Program of the day

We will pick you up based on your location on Jeju Island and head towards the east coast.

Key points of the program:
   •    visiting Seongsan Ilchulbong and walking up to the viewpoint (approximately 30 minutes)
   •    exploring the crater area and panoramic viewing platforms
   •    watching a performance by the Haenyeo divers
   •    free time by the coast and local lunch options

Who are the Haenyeo?

Haenyeo are the legendary female divers of Jeju Island.

They harvest seafood by free diving without scuba gear, relying only on their breath and experience.

Their culture is recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage and is considered one of the most important symbols of Jeju.

During this program, you will see the Haenyeo performance and learn more about their unique tradition.

Additional locations

Depending on the season and your pace, we can also include a walk along Jeju's scenic east coast - lava rock formations, cliffs, ocean views, and photo stops.

You can also visit one of Jeju's historical sites - a preserved traditional village from the Joseon Dynasty, where local residents still live today.
